Today is BB-Time *GG*
As shown in the preview a Quarq Dfour91 will be take place in this setup…. finally a powermeter! This one will be shipped in two flavors: BB30 and GXP. Because of the BB30 implementation which is retarded (just keep a look in the install guide: spacer+spacer+adjustment-spacer wtf?!) I decided to run the GXP model.
Therefor a new bottom bracket is required and of course a ceramic one. Hunting for the optimum and best on the markt only one is acceptable – Ceramicspeed. The BB is the same style as the “old” ROTOR BB30-24 which is shared between those companies, thank you!
BB-Session OSBB
Specialized call every BB an OSBB but it isn ‘t consistant. On an aliminium frame OSBB is a standard BB30 with industrial bearings (width 68mm, diameter 42mm). On carbon frames it is the self -brewed OSBB which is a short PF30 (width 61mm, diameter 46mm). New Exception on this are the new carbon frame like the Tarmac SL5 (2018) and SL6. There is OSBB a BB30.

First of all weight check: 115,1 grams. Nice!
Compared to my old ROTOR I will not “glue” the threads with loctite. The reason for this? I don’t know… I will try it. Loctite is also not requested by the installation guide but most common practice. So second will be anti seize to all contact surfaces and the threads. Then the parallel alignment inside the shell and go for it.
For the “pro look” I placed the non drive side with the logo upwards. The drive side is hidden by the crank so this is incidental. In the end 40NM and it is done =D
