Tarmac: Bar Tape

Finally the bar tape which will perfectly fit the all-over-theme of the Tarmac. Lizard Skins and Supacaz are one of the fancy tape manufactures which also performs best. On the Tarmac I will go for Supacaz because of the *BLING* style =D

These tools are needed:

  • Bike Stand
  • 3mm Allen
  • Scissor
  • Tape

    • BT-21
  • Supacaz Bling Tape (Gold)

The base is a clean Handlebar with taped cabling. This is also the last step to align the levers (torque 6-8NM).

Then as always from the end to the lever, straight to the top. Because of the thickness of the Supcaz Tape I skipped the Figure-8 and go for the simple covering style.

On the top I used some standard black tape to get a perfect finish.

Tape done… now it is time for the end plugs. Supacaz also offers a perfect solution that looks super nice – powder coated aluminum. The plug itself is equipped with a pop-up mechanism and spreads out in the handlebar end. This is a much stronger fit than the conventional ones.

The final result: Black / Red / Gold
